Description Continuous Security Tape DR491 The Continuous Security Tape DR491 provides a tamper-evident sealing solution for cartons, boxes, and packaged goods. It helps protect shipments by showing clear evidence of interference. This makes it suitable for logistics, retail, courier, and manufacturing environments. The tape comes in a standard roll format. It has a width of 50.8mm (2”) and a roll length of 50 metres (164 ft). It uses a 76mm (3”) core for compatibility with standard dispensers and packaging systems. The film is produced using BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene). The film thickness measures 50µ (0.00196”). It delivers a tensile strength of 210 MN/m² (MD) and 175 MN/m² (TD). The material also offers elongation at break of 85% (MD) and 105% (TD). This helps it withstand stress during handling and transport. The tape uses a formulated hot melt adhesive system. It has an adhesive thickness of 30–45 gsm (30–45µ / 1.18–1.77 thou). This provides strong and consistent bonding on a wide range of packaging surfaces. The adhesive performs well under different conditions. It has a softening point of 92°C (197.6°F) and a SAFT of 59°C (138.9°F). Peel strength measures 35N/25mm after 20 minutes and 37N/25mm after 24 hours on glass. Tack reaches 60N/25mm. Shear resistance lasts 3 days at 23°C on glass and 1.5 hours at 40°C on steel. Operators apply the tape directly to cartons for secure sealing. The continuous format allows smooth application in high-volume environments. Once applied, it helps deter tampering and protect goods throughout transit.
