Washable Finger Paints Powder for Toddlers, Safe Powder Paints for Baby’s Hand and Feet, Non-Toxic Preschool Art and Craft Supplies
$ 5.90
Great packaging! Solid 10 out of 10 for presentation and quality of the packaging. I would give it a 5 star if the product was a bit better on the quality of the “paint”. I understand that the product is made with real fruit and vegetable powders, but the Yellow is made from pumpkin that thickens up too much like baby food and is supper fibrous with little to no color. The same with green it’s made with Spinach and it is not very pigmented and is very thick and fibrous. I am an artist and like to make use of natural plant pigments whenever possible. I also know that there are much better plant pigments that are safe and would create beautiful colors that would be much more vibrant. With that said I can see why they went with the more subtle ones as they clean completely off your hands and on surfaces without staining and are geared more for very very small children who may ingest these paints. They are made with fruit and vegetable powders, agar agar, and guar gum which are all safe to ingest, but the packaging does say not to ingest them. it means you have to lay a thicker amount down and unfortunately, this causes mold on dried painted paper.I did purchase this for homeschool with my 10-year-old daughter who is learning all about art theory this year she wanted to make her paints and I thought this would be a great experiment as it is all safe for her to handle and has no chemicals to deal with. It did serve its purpose for our project. Unfortunately, our project included mixing colors she wanted to use later on, and this did not work well as all of the paint she painstakingly mixed to get the right colors and filled pans with, all molded except the solid blue color which was a flower pigment. All the pigments she mixed using the tomato, pumpkin, and spinach molded.With that said great product for finger painting for kids and experimenting, not made for things that you want to have the kids paint and keep, as it will mold. I did post pictures of the product and how it goes on the paper. I do not have the moldy ones as my daughter got so grossed out she threw them all away before I could do that.
