Description Papaver somniferum ‘Hungarian Blue’, an Ornamental Opium & Seed-Oil Poppy. Papaver somniferum, commonly known as the opium poppy, is a species of flowering plant in the family Papaveraceae. It is an annual herbaceous plant with large, showy flowers that can range in colour from white to pink, red, or purple. A striking heirloom, Papaver somniferum ‘Hungarian Blue’ poppy is extra vigorous, its healthy foliage and strong stems holding the large tulip-shaped violet-blue blooms aloft. After the petals drop, the urn-shaped seed pods develop.   We cannot ship this species Internationally.
